Option A is Dudhsagar Waterfalls, located 60 kilometres from Panaji inside Bhagwan Mahavir Wildlife Sanctuary. You cannot drive a personal vehicle past the forest entry gate at Kulem; you must board a government-registered 4x4 jeep safari from Mollem. A jeep accommodates 8-10 people at a shared cost of INR 400-700 per person. The trail includes multiple stream crossings that are inaccessible in standard cars.

The waterfall drops approximately 310 meters in four tiers over black basalt rock. In monsoon and post-monsoon (July-November), water volume is maximum and mist extends 100 metres from the base. In December-January, flow reduces but the falls remain dramatic. Swimming in the pool below is permitted in designated zones. Carry waterproof phone protection, a change of dry clothes, and rubber footwear for the splash zone. Total excursion time including travel: 4-5 hours.

Option B is a guided Spice Plantation tour at Sahakari Farms, Tropical Spice Plantation, or Savoi Plantation in the Ponda area (30 kilometres from Panaji). These plantations grow vanilla, cardamom, black and white pepper, cinnamon, nutmeg, betel nut, cocoa, and cashew. A guided 60-90 minute tour explains cultivation methods and traditional agricultural practices. Always check elephant interaction welfare standards before participating.

Most spice farm packages include a traditional Goan meal on a banana leaf: rice, dal, fish curry, vegetable preparations, poppadum, and a coconut dessert. This is often the most authentic Goan meal experience for tourists because the preparation mirrors genuine village cooking. Buy spices, cashew wine, and homemade jaggery directly from the plantation store at below-market prices.

For local market shopping, the Mapusa Friday Market is the best in Goa for non-tourist buyers: fresh vegetables, fish, local breads, cashew products, and handspun textiles. The Saturday Night Market in Arpora (October-April) is ideal for handmade jewelry, ethnic clothing, and international street food.

Whatever option you choose, keep the evening free for a final beach session or sunset viewpoint. Tonight is your last real evening; do not over-schedule it.
